These magnificent baubles were made by two of the groups we partner with. Firstly, the paper maché ball is made by Rainbow Tree using recycled paper and then the stitching is completed by the artisans of ThaiVillage. Rainbow Tree is a small group of people affected by HIV/AIDS working together in Northern Thailand. Together they provide hope, care and employment to vulnerable people and their families. This very inspiring group have lots of fun working together each day and their workshop is a place of peace, laughter and support. ThaiVillage supports young artisans in Northern Thailand by providing vocational training and employment on a long term basis. This partnership fosters economic self-sufficiency with a generational impact within families. Together they have created these ornaments to share their handiwork and bring a beautiful symbol of Christmas from their villages into your home.
Each bauble is 30cm circumference, has a gold thread for hanging, and is presented in an organza bag.
There are four designs to select from and each one has distinctive and unique Thai features, for example, the 'Bethlehem' design includes some elephants in the landscape.
